Reduced Operations During Harvard Winter Recess

The SBDB will be operating at a reduced level between Dec 26 2025 and Jan 1 2026 due to Harvard Winter Recess. Deposition credential requests and dataset release requests during this time will be handled following this time period.

All published datasets are available for download via rsync.

Local Access

Datasets available at your local institution should be accessable at /programs/datagrid/$dataset_number

Download Instructions

  1. Run the following command from your Terminal on a Linux or OS X workstation:

    2. rsync -av rsync://data.sbgrid.org/10.15785/SBGRID/$dataset_number

    • Faster access may be available from a Tier 1 site closer to your location.
      Substitute any of the following for the domain in the rsync command above.
      •  
      • sbgrid.icm.uu.se (Uppsala University in Sweden)
      • sbgrid.pasteur.edu.uy (Institut Pasteur de Montevideo in Uruguay)
      • sbgrid.ncpss.org (Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences in China)

  2. After the transfer is completed, issue the following command to verify data integrity:
